Today was our big trip to the Smithsonian Zoo! It is a long bus ride so we ate our lunches as soon as we got there...the squirrels and birds loved us because we left so many crumbs behind for them to eat :) We all know how much I love birds near me!! NOT! Luckily we had to eat and run because we only had an hour to before we had to get back on the bus and make it back by 3:00.
The Purple Turtles got to see some neat things...the elephants, the panda bear, the brown bear sloth, the cheetah and a couple other animals in some glass displays. Their favorites were the panda bear and watching someone put money in the souvenir penny machine and watching how the penny got squashed and dropped down for them to take. Amazing!! Hahaha it was too cute to see their huge eyes watch the levers and wheels turn.
Most of our campers fell asleep on the bus ride home...great day for a nap, especially because we didn't get back to camp in time for most of them to take a nap. :)
When I got home from work that day I was exhausted!! After supper was prepared and eaten I just had to go upstairs and read in my room...my body was done being hot! I was sleeping by 8:30...woke up to go to the bathroom and was certain is was almost time for me to be awake, but alas it was just after midnight!! whoohoo! a whole 6 and half more hours of sleep! Life is good!
